I am currently searching for a 6 footish grand and have learned a lot from the forum over the last few weeks. I've heard negative comments about piano's used in university loan programs, say for the first year of their life, and then recovered and sold by a dealer. Is that so terrible as long as it is fully disclosed and reflected in the price? What would be a fair price for a Yamaha C3 used in a university environment and then sold by a Yamaha dealer with a "new" piano warranty? In my mind, it is basically a used instrument that could be a good value if it is priced right and passes inspection by a tech.
