1)  Richard Dowling will be presenting a Ragtime/Gershwin recital in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday evening, March 4th.  Call Rod Tillman at 918/749-3184 for more information

2)  Sue Keller will be presenting her 4th annual Ragtime Concert on Saturday afternoon, April 12th, in Tinley Park, IL   Others joining Sue will be Dick Zimmerman, Tex Wyndham, Dave Majchrzak, Jim Radloff, Steve Standiford, and Wesley Reznicek  For more information contact Sue Keller at skeller@rtpress.com

“Blind” Blake (born Arthur Blake, circa 1893, Jacksonville, Florida; died: circa 1933) was an influential blues singer and guitarist. He is often called “The King Of Ragtime Guitar”. There is only one photograph of him in existence.

Blind Blake recorded about 80 tracks for Paramount Records in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He was one of the most accomplished guitarists of his genre with a surprisingly diverse range of material

Remember to ensure the special rates you need to make your reservations before October 24, 2009 and mention that you are making them for the "West Coast Ragtime Festival" block.

It's best to make your reservations directly with the hotel at: (916) 922-8041. If you use the Red Lion central reservation number (800)-RED LION, make sure you identify your reservations as being for the "West Coast Ragtime Festival" in order to get the special festival rate.

Food Service
   Garden Coffee Cafe 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
   Bar service from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM
   A buffet will be located next to the restaurant. Open for breakfast 7-10, lunch 11- 3, and dinner 5-9.
   A "Ragtime Cafe" will be located near the festival venues and will feature ready-made hot and cold items for cash sale.
   A variety of restaurants is nearby, including several in the shopping mall adjacent to the hotel.
